Opus Clip alternative for channels that publish every week
OpusClip is a well known AI clipping tool, and many creators start there. If you are looking for an Opus Clip alternative, this page sets out the differences in approach and pricing units as plainly as we can, so you can decide which tool suits the way you publish. We do not judge their output here. Test both on the same video and decide for yourself.
The short version
Both tools turn long videos into vertical clips with AI. The difference is who each one is shaped for. OpusClip offers an entry point at no cost and low-priced monthly plans. ShortsCreator has no free plan, starts at a higher price and is built around three things: clipping that runs automatically on every new upload, workspaces that keep agency clients apart, and minute allowances sized for people who publish long-form every week.
If you clip a video now and then, a lower entry price may matter most to you. If you publish weekly, serve clients or want clips waiting for review each time you upload, read on.
How the pricing compares
Pricing changes often, so treat their figures as indicative. As listed on the OpusClip pricing page in August 2026, they offer a free option, a plan at about 15 USD a month with about 150 minutes, and a plan at about 29 USD a month with about 300 minutes. Their allowance is counted per source minute. Check their site for current prices and terms before you decide.
ShortsCreator plans, billed monthly or yearly at exactly half the monthly price:
| Plan | Monthly | Yearly, per month | Source minutes per month | Channels | Seats |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Creator | $49 | $24 | 150 | 1 | 1 |
| Studio | $149 | $74 | 500 | 3 | 3 |
| Agency | $499 | $249 | 1,800 | 25 | 10 |
| Enterprise | $1,499 | $749 | 6,000 | unlimited | 25 included |
At the smallest size, their monthly price per minute is lower than ours. Our plans are built for larger, steady volumes and for teams. Full terms are on ShortsCreator pricing.
Where ShortsCreator is different
These are differences in what our product includes. They are not claims about the quality of another tool.
- Channel autopilot. On Studio, Agency and Enterprise you connect a YouTube channel once, and every new upload is clipped automatically into a review queue with scores, titles and captions already applied.
- Agency workspaces. Each client gets a separate workspace with its own channels, brand kits and scheduling, and roles for owner, editor and reviewer, with approval before anything is published.
- Minutes for weekly long-form. Studio includes 500 source minutes and Agency 1,800, enough for several long episodes a week across channels. Deleting a clip never returns minutes, so the counter is always predictable.
- No free plan. You get a one-time demo on one of your own videos, then you pick a paid plan. We would rather keep the product focused on people who publish for a living.
- Yearly at minus 50 percent. Every plan costs exactly half per month when billed yearly, and yearly is the default view.
- Enterprise controls. SSO with SAML, an audit log, data retention controls, an uptime SLA and invoices for every payment.
What both tools do
To be fair to both products, many basics overlap. Both read the transcript of a long video, suggest moments, cut them vertical, add animated captions and help you publish to short-form platforms. Both work from a pasted link or an uploaded file.
In ShortsCreator specifically, every moment comes with the exact quote and a virality score from 0 to 100 with a reason, face tracking keeps the speaker in frame with a split layout for two people, you edit by changing the transcript text, and exports are 1080x1920 MP4 up to 60 fps with SRT captions. The ai video clipper page explains how the moments are chosen.
Moving your workflow over
Switching does not require any export from another tool. Your source videos are already on YouTube or on your drive.
- 1Connect your channel or paste the link of your latest long video.
- 2Create a brand kit with your fonts, caption colours and logo.
- 3Review the ranked moments and approve the clips you want.
- 4Schedule them to YouTube Shorts, TikTok and Instagram Reels from the calendar.
Agencies can set up one workspace per client and invite editors and reviewers with the right role. For a broader look at the market, our guide to the best video clipping software compares the main approaches without a ranking.

Every new upload on a connected YouTube channel is clipped automatically and placed in a review queue, so clips are ready when you open the app. It is included from Studio upward.
Yes. Testing two tools on the same video is the fairest way to decide. Use the demo with a video you already clipped elsewhere and compare.
No. Your videos and transcripts stay private to your workspace and are not used to train AI models.
